The faculty and staff of the Economics in Education Programs includes: 

 

Professor Gerald J. Swanson, Ph.D., Economics Professor at University of Arizona Eller College of Management and the Thomas R. Brown Chair in Economic Education, is a nationally recognized economics professor who makes the subject both exciting and useful. He has won every major U of A teaching award and is a New York Times Best Selling Author. 

 

Don Wells, Ph.D. Professor Emeritus in Economics at University of Arizona Eller College of Management, is a specialist in Economics Education, Economic Development & International Economics. His publications include experiments in undergraduate economics education, materials for childhood economics education, research on Saudi economics, and articles on economic analysis of attitudes of host countries toward direct foreign investment abroad. He has been awarded numerous teaching awards, including the Carnegie Foundation’s Arizona Professor of the Year. 

 

Steven Reff, an award winning Tucson classroom teacher and A.P. Economics trainer with experience that includes serving as a teacher trainer for the College Board. He has advised on writing economics curricula in Ukraine and Czech Republic, and was awarded the U.S. Presidential Scholars Educator Award by the U.S. Department of Education. He helps to teach some of the Foundation workshops, and co-authors online economics lesson plans. 

 

Ruth Cooper, Ph.D. – Thomas R. Brown Foundation Program Manager, is a former K-12 teacher and administrator, and an award-winning high school administrator, who has worked in economics a number of years. Her Ph.D. disseration was on Curriculum Development.
